DISCERNMENT will help you process “YOU”, uncover your gifts and talents, and discover what truly gives your life meaning. Part of my job will be helping you to figure out what has been holding you back or getting in your way of success, and then they help you to push past whatever that is.
COMPASSION is the most powerful force in the world and benefits both those who receive it and those who give it. Compassion can transform indifference, intolerance and injustice. It is able to replace judgment with acceptance because it makes no distinction between age, ethnicity, gender or disability. It freely embraces the rich diversity of humanity by treating everyone as equals. Every person on earth desires it, and every human being deserves it.
Further it is an absolute fact that our society cannot function without compassion. It’s a fundamental part of our communities, and it is necessary to ensure that all those in need receive the support and services they require. Compassion drives society to be inclusive and to allow all of its members to be fully engaged in life. It is what compels human beings to care about each other and to help each other.
FORGIVENESS transforms anger and hurt into healing and peace. It means giving up the suffering of the past and being willing to create the needed space for all ahead with far greater potential for inner freedom. Forgiveness can help you overcome feelings of depression, anxiety, and rage, as well as personal and relational conflicts. It is about making the conscious decision to let go of what no longer serves you to get gracefully where you want to be next.
Harvard researcher and physician George Vaillant describes forgiveness as one of the eight positive emotions that keep us connected with our deepest selves and with others. He considers these positive emotions to be key ingredients that bind us together in our humanity and they include love, hope, joy, compassion, faith, awe, and gratitude. Whether you have a spiritual bent or not, the research supports the notion that developing stronger positive emotions supports us in leading healthier, happier, and more connected lives. When we forgive and develop these other positive emotions we become less encumbered by the scars of the past.
PLENITUDE is a feeling that an experience is satisfying because it is full or complete. The word calls attention to the inherent bounty of nature that we need to recover. It directs us to the chance to be rich in the things that matter to us most, and the wealth that is available in our relations with one another. Plenitude involves very different ways of living than those encouraged by the maxims that have dominated the discourse for the last many years.
It puts ecological and social functioning at its core, but it is not a paradigm of sacrifice. To the contrary, it involves a way of life that will yield more well-being than sticking to business as usual, which has led both the natural and economic environments into decline.
